The architecture here integrates individual regional elements in a modern structure thus transforming the conventional. So the visible wooden construction of the truss and the unpainted rough cast exterior walls, whose colouring comes solely from the materials used, allude to conventional building traditions.

What is unusual, however, is its form: The triangular shape and urban context of the site at an intersection demanded a “peak” on the narrow side of the building. This was achieved by creating a house which slopes in perspective.

The light-filled generous interior of the supermarket rises from a broad and low entrance area to an overdimensioned divided-light window, which dominates the view of the building from the road.
